‘BAMCEF has no political associations’

Bangalore: The State unit of the All India Backward and Minority Communities Employees’ Federation (BAMCEF) has claimed that it has no association with any political party. The President of the State unit of the Federation, H. Thammaiah, told presspersons here on Tuesday that BAMCEF was responsible for the formation of the Bahujan Samaj Party but it had severed its relationship with it in 1986.

There had been reports in the media to the effect that BAMCEF had donated Rs. 40 lakh either to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minster Mayawati or to the BSP, but there was no substance to it, he added.
