Farewell to Mittal
VIJAYAWADA: Navin Mittal, who served as Krishna district Collector for almost three years and has been transferred to the Irrigation Department as Joint Secretary, likened his transfer to retirement of a cricketer who is at the peak of his career. “This kind of retirement gives immense pleasure, though I’m pained to move out of Krishna district,” he said at a farewell meeting on Tuesday. Mr. Mittal said he was leaving the district with full satisfaction and taking positive memories with him. “I’m indebted to the people for their love and affection towards me,” he said.
Mr. Mittal said the media in the district played a constructive role in highlighting issues such as Operation Kolleru. The micro finance movement was also successful, as it had become a public movement, he said.
