Do not damage roads: Exnora

Staff Reporter

TIRUCHI: The Tiruchi District Exnora has appealed to individuals and institutions not to damage the city roads by setting up hoardings or arches in the larger interest of the people. Addressing presspersons here on Monday, its honorary president G. Subramanian, said that extensive damage was being caused to the City Corporation roads which remain in a neglected condition for long.

The Exnora had filed a petition with the District Munsiff Court and it had issued a permanent injunction restraining the Corporation from permitting individuals, institutions and others to set up arches or dais by digging roads.

A consumer activist Sekaran said that consumer organisations would seek remedy through contempt of court, if individuals or political parties resort to damaging roads.
