All-party meet on Bench

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Chief Minister V. S. Achuthanandan will convene an all party meeting to discuss the demand for the establishment of a Bench of the Kerala High Court in the capital and related issues.

Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs M. Vijayakumar said here on Tuesday that the Chief Minister had given an assurance to convene such a meeting to a delegation of advocates from the Thiruvananthapuram bar. The delegation had met him to press for the demand for the Bench. Asked about the quo warranto petition before the High Court seeking his removal over his statements demanding the Bench, the Minister said that the demand for the Bench was neither new nor parochial.
