dated March 5, 1958: Mediums in varsities

Mr. K.J. Shrimali, Minister of State for Education, said in the Lok Sabha on March 3, the consensus of opinion of Indian universities on the position of regional languages in universities was that the change-over from English to the regional language as medium of instruction should not be hustled. He added that the Vice-Chancellors of the universities were also of the view that English should be studied as a second language in all the universities.
