Mandays lost comes down

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The mandays lost owing to lockouts and lay offs have come down from 23,76,424 in 2006 to 20,45,504 in 2007. Labour Commissioner K.S. Premachandra Kurup said here on Tuesday that the mandays lost as a result of lockouts came down from18,11,755 in 2006 to 15,09,744 in 2007. The mandays lost owing to lay offs came down from 5,64,669 to 5,35760 during the corresponding period. However, the mandays lost as a result of strikes increased from 86,997 in 2006 to 87,226 in 2007. In 2005, it was 32,50,553. — Special Correspondent
