Hari Prasad stars in SRMSC’s big win

Coimbatore: K. Hari Prasad hit 120 in Sri Ramakrishna Mills Sports Club’s 234-run win over Jolly Rovers Cricket Club in the Canara Bank-CDCA first division league for the Pricol Trophy at the SNR Sons grounds here recently.

At the TNAU grounds, P. Prem Kumar’s 102 went in vain as R.K.S. Kalvi Nilayam ICC lost to Sri Ramakrishna Cricket Trust by six runs.

The scores:

First division: Sri Ramakrishna CT 195 in 44.3 overs (Vivek Subramaniam 48, C. Madhu four for 33) bt R.K.S. Kalvi Nilayam ICC 189 in 49 overs (P. Prem Kumar 102).

Sri Ramakrishna Mills SC 336 for six in 50 overs (K. Hari Prasad 120, G. Surendar 62, K. Nazer 48) bt Jolly Rovers CC 102 in 26 overs (Mohan four for 6).

Fourth division: CIT 222 for seven in 49 overs (S. Shankar 56) lost to Lucky Young Star CC 223 for five in 40.3 overs (N. Arvind 102 n.o., U.S. Victor Ashee Greig 42).

Soya Sakthi triumphs

Soya Sakthi defeated NRBC (Nanjundapuram) 29-22, 29-20 and emerged champion in the Mahendra Trophy ball badminton (fives) tournament at the CIT grounds recently.

The results: Final: Soya Sakthi bt NRBC 29-22, 29-20.

Semifinals: NRBC bt Himalayas BCC ‘A’ 29-17, 29-26.

Soya Sakthi bt Suresh Fives ‘A’ 24-29, 29-13, 29-16.

Sandeep hits century

At Udhagamandalam, S. Sandeep’s 106 enabled Colts Cricket Club score a thumping 228-run win over Kents Cricket Club in the Canara Bank-NDCA ‘A’ division league for the K-Lite Rolling Trophy at the HPF grounds recently.

A. Rajendran took five for 21 for the winner which included a hat-trick.

The scores:

Colts CC 291 for eight in 40 overs (S. Sandeep 106, K. Sivasathyan 51, Fabian McDonald 51 n.o.) bt Kents CC 63 (A. Rajendran five for 21, including hat-trick).

PSPB chess tournament

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, under the aegis of the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) will conduct the 19th PSPB inter-unit chess tournament at ‘The Monarch’ Hotel Howard Johnson in Udhagamandalam from March 8 to 12.

Sunny Colts posts win

Sunny Colts Cricket Club beat Sunny Cricket Club by 23 runs in the Canara Bank-Kanyakumari DCA first division league in Nagercoil on Tuesday.

The scores:

Sunny Colts CC 158 in 39.4 overs (Bright 46) bt Sunny CC 135 in 34.2 overs.
