Kudos from President, Prime Minister
New Delhi: President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday congratulated Team India which won the Commonwealth Bank Series. “It is a fabulous victory. This is a victory based on teamwork and strong determination,” the President said in a message.
The Prime Minister intervened in the Rajya Sabha debate on the motion of thanks to the President’s address to congratulate the team. — PTI

Union Sports Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar praised the players for their “magnificent” performance.
The dedication and spirit with which the series was played was brilliant, he said.
In Mumbai, the BCCI announced an award of Rs. 10 crore to the team. A grand reception will be accorded to the team in New Delhi on March 6, BCCI president Sharad Pawar told reporters in Bangalore. He announced an award of Rs. 1 crore each to the selection committee of the senior and junior teams.
