Pharmacy store robbed

Special Correspondent

TAMBARAM: Unidentified men barged into an outlet of a leading chain of round-the-clock pharmacy store in Brindavan Nagger, Adambakkam, and took away cash and other articles, a little past midnight on Monday.

While the value of the missing articles – about Rs.20,000 in cash, beverage mix and perfumes – was small, the mode of operation left the residents of Adambakkam shocked.

A little past midnight, two unidentified men walked into Apollo pharmacy store and asked for some medicines. Even as the two staff tried to get what the men wanted, the two barged into the shop and closed it from inside.

They snatched the cash from the staff and sprayed perfume and insecticides inside the shop.

The staff turned unconscious. The incident took place at 12.15 a.m. on Tuesday. When they regained consciousness and complained to the Adambakkam police, it was 1 a.m.
