HYDERABAD: The Intermediate examinations are starting on Wednesday in 2,065 centres across the State and nearly 16.35 lakh students will appear from both the general and vocational streams. The examinations will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) Secretary M. Veerabhadraiah said that 321 centres have been identified as problematic in the State and police bandobust has been arranged at those centres. He said 102 flying squads have been constituted and they will be supplemented with 181 sitting squads. He said steps have been taken to provide furniture in all the examination centres apart from other facilities like drinking water, medical aid and electricity. He said control rooms have been set up in the district head quarters and in the offices of Regional Inspection Officers concerned and in case of difficulty parents and students can contact them for help. A control room has also been set up at the BIE head office in Hyderabad and it can be reached on 040-24601010. Complaints can also be faxed on 040-24655027. Dos and don’ts Candidates reporting after 15 minutes of the scheduled examination time will not be allowed to write. They should ensure that the registered number printed on the hall-ticket tallied with the number of OMR bar coded sheet. They should staple the OMR bar coded sheet to the answer book before commencement of the examination and should not tamper with the OMR bar coded sheet. Candidates should also ensure that the correct question paper was given. They are not supposed to write their name or hall-ticket number anywhere in the answer book. Mobiles and electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the examination hall.
