10 lakh devotees expected to take part the event

Sangareddy: Over ten lakh devotees are expected to visit the Edupayala Vanadurga Bhavani Jatara which begins on Thursday at Nagsanpalli of Papannapet mandal in Medak district.

The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for a safe and trouble free darshan for the huge crowds that arrive here from all parts of Telangana region, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Barricades have been constructed on the pathway to the temple on the Ghanpur anicut for those arriving from the Chinnaghanapuram side of the temple. Six generators and equal number of 100 KV transformers were pressed into service for uninterrupted power supply.

In addition to the recently completed Rs 2.86 crore drinking water scheme, five water tankers have been pressed into service to cater to the needs of pilgrims who pitch their tents at different parts of Nagsanpalli hillocks. According to Utsava committee chairman Venkateswar Reddy the sanctum sanctorum has been renovated this year to ensure smooth ‘darshan’. Expert divers will keep a watch on the bathing area in front of the temple. NSS volunteers from Medak Degree College and a large contingent of police personnel under the Medak OSD Swaminarayan Pawar will provide security.

Bus service

The APSRTC is running special buses from Hyderabad and Secunderabad, Balanagar, Narsapur, Jogipet, Sangareddy and Patancheru to Nagsanpalli.
