Steps assured for safety of A.P. students in U.S.

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Minister D. Srinivas has said the State Government would take whatever the steps required from its side for the safety of students from the State in the United States.

As the matters relating to these students were within the domain of the External Affairs Ministry, Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy was planning to address a detailed letter to the Ministry stressing the need for taking steps for their safety, he said.

He said the Government was anguished at the recent killing of some students in the U.S. It was equally concerned that the U.S. police did not even book cases with respect to some of these murders.
