dated March 6, 1958: Riots near Karachi

About six persons were killed and more than 200 were reported to have been injured in a clash between refugees and Pathans in the satellite town of Nazimabad near Karachi on March 4. After bloody riots in the morning, when, according to an official statement two persons were killed and 44 injured, a dusk-to-dawn curfew was imposed for three days in the Refugee Colony, about six miles from Karachi. Unofficial reports put the number of deaths at 20 and injured near 200.
