dated March 6, 1958: Soviet honour for Indian

According to a message received from Moscow from the Director, Institute of Palaeontology, Academy of Sciences of the USSR and a telegraphic communication from Mr. Kalinin, Head of the USSR Mission for Oil Exploration in India, Dr. M.R. Sahni, President, Palaeontological Society of India, has been elected Honorary Member of the Palaeontological Society of the USSR. This is the first time that an Indian geologist has been honoured thus and the first time since the Revolution that a foreign scientist has been elected an Honorary Member of the Academy of Sciences, USSR.
