Corrections and clarifications

In the lead cricket story “‘Gabba reverberates to young India tune” (“Sport”, March 5, 2008), the bowling analysis of Australia’s James Hopes was inadvertently left out in the scoreboard. He had figures of 6-0-20-0.

In a report “‘We bearded the lion in its own den’” (“Sport”, March 5, 2008), Dilip Vengsarkar was referring to India’s triumph in the World Championship of Cricket in 1985 when he made the comment “It was a fantastic and historic victory after a 23-year gap”, and not the 1983 Prudential World Cup as was published.

Correction to a clarification. Yesterday, while clarifying that the Op-Ed page of February 28 had carried a photograph of a close-up of a banner of Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdoðan, we got the dateline wrong. The article appeared on February 28, 2008, and not February 28, 2009 as we had said.
