Jaffer, Shukla to lead

Mumbai: Wasim Jaffer has been named captain of the West Zone team for the all-Star series limited-overs cricket tournament for the Prof. D.B. Deodhar Trophy.

The tournament will be played at four centres in South Zone from March 14.

At Kolkata, Laxmi Ratan Shukla was named the captain of the East Zone side.

Sourav Ganguly and Manoj Tiwary have been named in the team.

The teams: West Zone: Wasim Jaffer (captain), Ajit Agarkar, Ajinkya Rahane, Parthiv Patel, Venugopala Rao, Rohit Sharma, Yusuf Pathan, Abhishek Nayar, Mohnish Parmar, Iqbal Abdulla, Munaf Patel, Sandeep Maniar, Siddharth Trivedi, Kedar Jadhav, Pinal Shah. Coach: Surendra Bhave.

East Zone: Laxmi Ratan Shukla (captain), Sourav Ganguly, Anustup Majumdar, Arindam Das, Manoj Tiwary, Ranadeb Bose, Wriddiman Saha, Shib Sankar Paul, Ireash Saxena (all Bengal), Haladhar Das, P.R. Sinha (both Orissa), Sourabh Tiwary, Ishank Jaggi, Manish Vardhan, S.S. Rao (all Jharkhand), Deeraj Goswami, S. Purkayastha (both Assam).
