KASARAGOD: Vasudha, an organisation based in the district, is organising an international seminar ‘The Mission and The Vision’ on the interactions between early German missionaries and natives of Malabar and South Canara at Municpal Town Hall, Kanhangad on March 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Rajan Gurukkal, director, school of social sciences, M.G. University would deliver the key-note address in the inaugural session, which would be held in the morning. Albrecht Frenz, Indologist, Stuttgart, Germany would be the guest of honour. The papers, which would be presented in the inaugural session of the seminar, include ‘Formatting a Pattern: Gundert and Missionary Tradition’ by Kesavan Veluthat and ‘The Discursive Traverse of Linguistic Missionaries’ by Dr. Frenz. Istvan Perczel, professor, medieval studies, Central European University, Hungary would be the guest of honour in the second session. T.K. Ramachandran, department of English, University of Calicut would present papers.
