Stir against damage of statue

RAJAPALAYAM: Over 1,200 persons, including women, participated in a hunger strike here on Thursday to protest against the damage of Muthuramalinga Thevar statue, near here, on Monday. All-India Forward Bloc’s State president M. Karthik and its State deputy general secretary Sethuramapandiyan participated.

Addressing the participants, Mr. Karthik asked them not to indulge in violence and be peaceful.

He hoped that police would nab the culprits soon.
