25 Perambalur villages selected

Development works worth Rs.20 lakh for each village Other schemes to be dovetailed with this Thittam
PERAMBALUR: The Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam (AGAMT) would be implemented in 25 village panchayats in Perambalur district during 2008-09 with an allocation of Rs.5 crore.
The scheme would be implemented in Siruvachur, Pudu Naduvalur, Sengunam and Vadakku Madhavi in Perambalur Union; Venbavur, Inam Agaram, Brahmadesam, Eraiyur, Pillankulam and Thondamanthurai in Veppanthattai Union; T. Kalathur, Naranamangalam, Nattarmangalam, Bhoojangarayanallur, Thimmur, Allinagarm, Mavilangai and Nochikulam in Alathur Union; Kadur, Vadakalur, Varagur, Andur, Moongilpadi,Thirumanthurai and Paravai in Veppur Union, Collector Anil Meshram said.
Speaking at a training programme for officials to brief them on the guidelines for the implementation of the programme and formation of village level committees here on Thursday, Mr. Meshram said that development works worth Rs.20 lakh would be taken up in each of the 25 village panchayats.
Apart from this, development programmes of other government departments would be dove-tailed with the AGAMT so that nearly Rs.1 crore worth of works were executed in each panchayat.
The Project Officer of the District Rural Development Agency, Natarajan, and other officials participated.
