BJP: budget will spur price rise

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP State president P.K. Krishnadas has said the State budget will spur price rise.

In a statement here , the BJP leader said the proposal to collect Rs.100 crore through cess was a case in point. Though the Economic Review had warned of danger to food security, no measure was proposed to address the problem. The budget was silent on measures to raise non-tax revenue.

He alleged that the Finance Minister was upsetting communal balance by earmarking Rs.10 crore for carrying out the Paloli committee report.
