Shandilya new chief of SBBJ

JAIPUR: Senior banker Arun Shandilya has taken over as the new Managing Director of the State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ). Previously he was Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of the State Bank of India, Corporate Centre, Mumbai.

Joining SBI in 1972, Mr. Shandilya has held several assignments in Gujarat, Mumbai and Delhi in various facets of banking.

He is credited with the creation of SBI’s Mid-Corporate Group which took off as a pilot project during his tenure as General Manager (Commercial Banking), Mumbai Circle.

During his posting as Chief General Manager of SBI in Ahmedabad, Mr. Shandilya introduced the concept of social banking in a big way with each branch of the bank adopting a girl child for her educational needs.
