‘Bhooporatam’ a windfall for minorities

VIJAYAWADA: The ‘bhooporatam’ for the Kaji lands at Nidamanuru has turned out to be a windfall for the 4,000 minority families of the district that participated in it.

Though a court of law has issued a decree of status quo on the land, the district administration has promised housing for all the families that squatted on it, in their respective villages.

CPI(M) district secretary V. Umamaheswara Rao said at a press meet on Thursday that the officials were making a list of those who “occupied” the Wakf Board land.
