Forward Bloc flays government

PATHANAMTHITTA: All India Forward Bloc secretary G. Devarajan has said the functioning of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government led by V.S. Achuthanandan was disappointing.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr. Devarajan said that the LDF government had failed to rise to people’s expectations.

The government appeared to have taken a frigid attitude towards agitations for a genuine cause by the poorer sections of society like the Chengara land struggle.

The land struggle was not a law and order issue, but a social issue, he said.
