Contests to mark Women’s Day

The Chennai Collectorate would organise poetry, essay and slogan writing competitions to mark International Women’s Day.

Entries to the contests should be in Tamil and sent to the Collectorate by noon on March 14.

The topic for the poetry competition is ‘Kalachaaramum, Penn Munnetrammum’ (Culture and Women’s Empowerment). For the essay competition, it is ‘The Pained Voice of the Voiceless Women – What we need is hygiene and toilet facilities’.

Essays should be no longer than 1,000 words. Slogans should be between three and ten words in length, completing the statement ‘Penn endral…’ (Woman means…).

Participants from both genders are welcome.

Entries can be posted to Chennai Collector, M. Singaravelar Maligai, Rajaji Salai, Chennai – 1 or faxed to 25228025.
