Town Panchayat Commissioner inspects development works

KANCHEEPURAM: Commissioner, Town Panchayat, K. Gopal, inspected various works taken up under the ‘Anna Marumalarchi Thittam’ for Town Panchayats scheme at Karunkuzhi near Madurantakam recently.
Dr. Gopal inspected construction of a shopping complex abutting the Grand Southern Trunk Road and renovation of a tank in the town panchayat area. Construction of a community hall, a cremation platform, laying of black-topped and cement concrete roads were taken up under the scheme at a total cost of Rs.60.52 lakh.
He also inspected construction of 342 houses, each built at a cost of Rs.80,000, in seven localities under the integrated houses and slum improvement scheme.
Executive officer S. Arokiyadoss and Town Panchayat chairman G.V. Gunasundari accompanied him.
