Aspects such as aircraft landing, take off, security process and so on will be studied High-level committee to take decision on notifying the airport as ‘Bangalore airport’ Bangalore: The final stage of trial – called public trial – will commence at new airport at Devanahalli on Friday morning with two private airlines carrying passengers landing at the airport for the first time. The first aircraft – Kingfisher — from Mumbai will touch down the new runway at 10 a.m.; the second aircraft – Deccan – from HAL airport will land 30 minutes later. While Kingfisher airlines will leave for Mumbai at noon, the Deccan will take off at 12.30 p.m. to HAL airport. All aspects such as aircraft landing, take off, security process, check-in and check-out and so on would be studied during the final stage of trial. Meanwhile, a high-level committee of Union Civil Aviation Ministry, led by its secretary Ashok Chawla, will inspect the airport on Friday to check the preparedness of the airport for commencing commercial operation from March 30, as decided by the Bangalore International Airport Ltd. (BIAL), which has developed the airport. The decision on notifying the new airport as “Bangalore airport” and closing the HAL airport for commercial operations with effect from March 30 will be taken by the high-level committee after inspecting various facilities at the new airport.
