Manmohan pats Rosaiah

HYDERABAD: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has lauded the State budget for 2008-09 presented by Finance Minister K. Rosaiah. In letter addressed to Mr. Rosaiah, the Prime Minister praised him for managing revenue deficit efficiently and presenting a model budget with an outlay of Rs. 1 lakh crore. He also congratulated him for presenting 13 budgets in “your illustrious career.” “We are proud of your achievement and hope that your will go on to set higher benchmarks of performance in future.”
Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Mr. Rosaiah said he considered these compliments as a certificate to his performance because Dr. Singh was not only Prime Minister but also an accomplished economist .
