BJP to hold camps to motivate cadre

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The BJP has lined up programmes to motivate its cadre to polls with political training camps and a tour of the State by its Prime Ministerial candidate L.K. Advani next month.

In fact, Mr. Advani’s tour in April second week has also been given the name ‘Sankalp yatra’, senior BJP leaders led by State president Bandaru Dattatreya told a news conference here on Thursday. A poster was released 0to publicise the BJP sponsored bandh in Telangana against the visit of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi on March 14.

The bandh was intended to convey the Congress deceit to the people Telangana on the separate State issue, they said.

They accused the Congress and CPI (M) of adopting double standards on the issue of separate Telangana. The Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy tried to play down the strong Telangana sentiment of people by focussing development of the region in his term.

Walkout

The TRS was also not sincere in ensuring that Telangana achieved statehood. On the other hand, the TDP was in a dilemma as it was unable to decide whether to stick to its stand on integrated State. The BJP alone was in a position to deliver the goods. The recent walkout by the party in Parliament over delay in creation of separate Telangana showed its commitment, they added. The BJP leaders expected the Congress government in the State not to hold by-elections to the seats vacated by the TRS. They said the Congress would postpone polls like it did in Karnataka.
