Four burglaries in Bangalore

BANGALORE: Burglars struck at three houses and a doctor’s clinic in the city on Wednesday and looted gold and silver ornaments estimated at Rs. 6.5 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh in cash.
The police said that between 1.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. thieves broke into businessman Dinesh Kamath’s house in MLA Layout and made away with Rs. 4 lakh cash and gold jewellery estimated at Rs. 2 lakh.
In another incident, burglars fled with gold and silver ornaments estimated at Rs. 2.5 lakh from bank employee Gajendra’s house in J.P. Nagar. The police said that between 8.15 p.m. and 10.30 p.m., the thieves had entered Mr. Gajendra’s house by breaking open the rear door. Thieves made away with Rs. 90,000 cash and gold ornaments estimated at Rs. 1.6 lakh from software engineer Parvez Ahmed’s house in BTM Layout, on Wednesday night. When Ahmed was asleep, the thieves had entered the first floor house by removing the latch of the main door, the police said.
Thieves broke open the doors of Srinath’s clinic in 1st Block, Jayanagar, and made away with a silver idol estimated at Rs. 30,000 and cash.
