Baghpat (U.P.): Two persons, including the brother of a Nagarpanchayat Chairman, were shot dead while two others were injured in an incident arising out of election rivalry, in Baraut area in this district. Armed assailants opened fire at the victims by automatic weapons while they were returning home after attending a function, police sources said on Friday. The two injured have been admitted to the hospital in a critical condition. Seven persons have been arrested in this connection, sources said, adding that election rivalry might be the motive.
