CHAMARAJANAGAR: The President of Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha, Vatal Nagaraj, has said his party will take out a "Raj Bhavan seige" agitation on March 17 to urge the Government to take steps to commence the Kabini second stage irrigation work and to approach the Supreme Court seeking a stay order against the Tamil Nadu Government’s move to implement the drinking water project at Cauvery basin near the controversial Hogenakkal Island. Addressing presspersons here on Friday, he said though the Government had laid the foundation stone for the Kabini project, it was pending for the past 25 years. He said its implementation was discussed in the Assembly and the Government should take its stand in this regard. Mr. Nagaraj criticised the negligence of the Government in developing the tourism infrastructure at Hogenakkal. He alleged that the Tamil Nadu Government has robbed the State’s land and water at Hogenakkal. It was not correct of Tamil Nadu to lay the foundation stone for a drinking water project at Hogenakkal, he said.
