BJP, RSS plea to Governor

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have submitted a memorandum to the Governor R.L. Bhatia urging him to take action to put down violence in Kannur district.

BJP State general secretary M. T. Ramesh and RSS State joint secretary Shankar Ram have said that a conspiracy, hatched by senior Communist Party of India (Marxist) leaders and the police top brass, was behind the violence. Only a CBI [Central Bureau of Investigation] inquiry would bring out the truth.
