Documentary maker wins award

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Documentary filmmaker Venu Nair has won this year’s National Tourism Award for his work titled ‘The mythology of the Aranmula metal mirror.’

Tracing the history of the mirror, the short film narrates how craftsmen developed the unique alloy that makes it such a durable and prized possession. Mr. Nair received the award from Union Minister Pranab Mukherjee at a function held in New Delhi last month.
