TRSV activists detained

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Ten activists of the Telangana Rashtra Vidyarthi Vibhag (TRSV) were taken into preventive custody on Friday when they tried to demonstrate before Shivam building at Vidyanagar in protest against the reported remark by Satya Sai Baba that the State should not be bifurcated. All the detained TRSV were let off in the evening. Anticipating protests from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and associations affiliated to it, police pickets were posted at the Shivam building belonging to the Satya Sai Trust. The agitating students raised slogans against the Baba stating that he hurt sentiments of people demanding formation of separate Telangana State.
