dated March 8, 1958: Foodgrain prices

Mr. M. Bhaktavatsalam, Home Minister, said in the Mardas Legislative Council, on March 6, that the problem now was the high prices of foodgrains and while they would welcome a fall in prices, the Government would not hesitate to make purchases if the price of rice fell to an uneconomic level and affected the ryots. The Minister said that if there was a need for re-opening fair price shops, the Government would do so.
