BJP not to support deal in its present form

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: There is no question of supporting the nuclear deal in its present form, M. Venkaiah Naidu, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader said on Friday.

Reacting to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s appeal to the former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, in this regard, Mr. Naidu said his party could think of extending support to the deal only in a renegotiated form.

He said the loan waiver scheme announced in the budget would not benefit most of the farmers and the BJP had constituted a panel, which would study the scheme in detail and come out with its findings.
