Woman moves consumer court

CUTTACK: After getting two contrasting medical reports about the status of her HIV infliction, a married woman from Jagatsinghpur district has moved the local consumer court claiming a compensation of Rs. 10 lakhs from the State government.

In her appeal, the 30-year-old woman of Odosho village of the district has claimed that the faulty reports have ostracised her and other family members in the village.

She has claimed the amount for the mental agony she had to undergo for the past several months.

Although, the consumer court has issued notices to the concerned hospitals to file counters, the district hospital authorities in Jagatsinghpur claim that the report provided to the woman is ‘correct.
