6 held for attack on home for women

TAMBARAM: The Selaiyur police have arrested six men in connection with the recent attack on a short stay home for women in Madambakkam near Tambaram.

The police identified the men as Sankar, Suresh, Suyambu, Nagaraj, Kalaivanan and Jaichandran. The men, police said, had barged into the premises of the Zonta Short Stay Home for Women in Manickam Nagar on Tuesday evening and damaged the premises.

They were arrested under Sections 147 and 148 (rioting) and provisions of Damage to Public Property Act, police added.
