Enhanced solatium announced

CHENNAI: The Government has sanctioned Rs. 4 lakh more to the family of Christy, fisherman of Thankatchimadam in Ramanthapuram district, who was killed in a firing on Wednesday.

An official release said Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, concerned over the killing, earlier approved the solatium of Rs. 1 lakh. The latest move was a response to the demand of fishermen in the area for enhanced relief money.
