Demand to strengthen LIC development officers

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The National Federation of Insurance Field Workers of India, a Life Insurance Corporation association, organised a march from the Ramlila Grounds to Jantar Mantar here earlier this week to raise public awareness on “anti-customer attitude and decisions of the LIC management that were destabilising the company”.

NFIFWI secretary-general R. Jayaprakash said: “We have conducted this march to demand strengthening of LIC development officers to fight competition from the private sector. The purpose of the march is to apprise Parliamentarians of the incorrect decision making by the LIC management”.

He said that in August 2004 the LIC management had reduced the income and working expenses of the field force.
