KANNUR: The district convention of the Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) held here on Saturday protested against the Canara Bank management’s action, seeking clarification from a BEFI leader and bank employee for criticising it. A press release issued by district secretary of BEFI V.P. Kishore said that the convention strongly protested against the clarification sought from BEFI State general secretary and Canara Bank Staff Union assistant secretary for criticising in a circular the management’s decision to change the 102-year-old logo of the bank by spending Rs. 1,000 crores. The convention was inaugurated by BEFI all India joint secretary A.K. Ramesh. C.P. Sujatha presided over.
