Huts destroyed in fire

RASIPURAM: Eleven huts in Minnakkal village near Vennanthur were destroyed in fire on Saturday. Three goats died in the accident.
Police sources said that residents spotted flames coming out from a hut belonged to Arthanari. The flames quickly spread to the nearby huts. The residents informed the Rasipuram fire and rescue services personnel. But all the huts were gutted before the personnel reached the spot. The cause of the fire is yet to be known.
Programme
The Tamil Nadu Consumer Vigilance Council in association with the National Service Scheme of Muthayammal Engineering College and Muthayammal Polytechnic College conducted a consumer awareness programme for residents in R. Puthupatti. Council Chairman S. Selvam distributed awareness guides.
