IUML seeks Nadapuram model pact

Staff Reporter

Says political violence is the biggest problem during LDF rule

‘CPI(M) adopting blackmail tactics’

Says violence will discourage investments

KOLLAM: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) State general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty has called upon the State government to come forward with a Nadapuram model peace package for Kannur.

He was inaugurating a State-level delegates session of the Yuva Paksham organised by the State Muslim Youth League here on Saturday.

He said that ugly creatures were out at Kannur engaged in a killing spree. The situation had gone out of Communist Party of India (Marxist)’s control in the district. In order to regain control of the situation, the CPI(M) is trying to convert Kannur into a slice of Nandigram, he alleged. Under Left Democratic Front rule, political violence has turned out to be the biggest problem of the State.

The violence will result in discouraging investment in the State and the CPI(M) will be primarily responsible for this. By triggering political violence in the State, the CPI(M) is gambling with the career of the younger generation. Every one in the State is being threatened by the CPI(M).

The CPI(M) is also using blackmail tactics at the Congress and the United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre by threatening withdrawal of support. The CPI(M) has never had any agenda for the people. But it always creates an issue and uses it as a tool for threats.

While the Union budget is stuffed with proposals aimed at the overall development of the country and welfare of its people, the budget of the Left Democratic Front government in the State offers nothing for the people. It does not contain proposals to even bring down the unbearable price rise of essential commodities. IUML leaders M.K. Muneer and Syed Sadiqali Shihab Thangal and Union Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahamed spoke. IUML district president A. Yunus Kunju welcomed.
