Plea to raise age limit for SI, constable posts

HYDERABAD: Representatives of the AP Unemployed Struggle Committee on Saturday staged a demonstration here demanding that the age limit be raised from 25 to 28 years in case of OC candidates for the posts of sub-inspector of police.

Rally held

The representatives, who are students of the Osmania, Andhra and Sri Venkateswara Universities took out a rally from Sundarayya Park to Ramnagar. They raised slogans. The ‘Agravarna Pedala Vedika’ (forum of poor among upper castes) in a representation to Minister for Mines P. Sabita Reddy at the Chief Minister’s camp office pleaded for increasing the age limit for the posts of SIs and constables. The plea was in the wake of the recruitment shortly of 15,000 constables and 1,500 SIs, said A. Ramachandra Reddy, convener.
