Poll for two RS seats notified

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretary and Returning Officer Sumit Kumar on Saturday issued the notification for biennial Rajya Sabha election to fill two seats.

He said the poll had been necessitated as two sitting Rajya Sabha members would be retiring on April 9. The poll would take place on March 26 in the Old Committee Room of the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat.

The nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or any of his proposers to the Returning Officer or to Kuldip Singh, Additional Secretary and Assistant Returning Officer, at their offices in the Vidhan Sabha between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on any day other than a public holiday not later than March 15. Scrutiny would take place on March 17 at 10 a.m. and the last date for withdrawal would be March 19.
