Bank linkage programme held

Rajahmundry: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation has arranged bank linkage programme on Saturday, which was attended by MLA R. Suryaprakasha Rao and Mayor A. Veeraraghavamma.

Speaking on this occasion, Commissioner V. Rajendra Prasad said that they arranged bank linkage to 334 SHGs to the tune of Rs.2.60 crores He said loans were arranged under ‘Pavala Vaddi’ scheme for 913 SHGs, who would be given revolving fund of Rs.38.10 lakhs. Some 1,784 deepam connections were distributed. MLA R. Suryaprakasha Rao said the ‘Pavala Vaddi’ scheme has benefited a large number of women. Mayor Veeraraghavamma said women have to be independent, which in turn would benefit society.
