Dempo’s AFC Cup campaign

Panaji: Riding on the double triumph in the ONGC I-League and Super Cup, Dempo will be aiming to at least make it to the quarterfinal of the AFC Cup when it begins its campaign against Al Ansar of Lebanon on March 11 at the Nehru Stadium, Margao.

Sur Club of Oman and Al Muharraq of Bahrain are the other two teams in Group A in Asia’s second tier club competition to be played on home-and-away basis.

Dempo’s next match in the preliminary round will be on March 18 when it travels to Oman to play against Sur Club.

The other home matches are on April 2 against Al Muharraq and on May 14 against Sur Club, while the other away matches are on April 16 against Al Muharraq and on April 30 against Al Ansar. — PTI
