Deccan Chronicle in final

VISAKHAPATNAM: Deccan Chronicle swept into the final of third CMR-VJF inter-media cricket tournament, beating Eenadu by 10 wickets at the Port stadium on Saturday to set up a final with The Hindu on Monday.

Deccan Chronicle shot out Eenadu for 70 with Madhava Rao taking four wickets and P. S. Reddy three, conceding only seven runs. Venkata Rao (24) was the top-scorer for Eenadu. Then openers Ravi Shankar (40) and Madhava Rao (13) scored the required runs for Deccan Chronicle in their unbeaten opening stand.

The scores: Eenadu 70 in 15.3 overs (Madhava Rao four for 14) lost to Deccan Chronicle 72 for no loss in 10.2 overs (Ravi Shankar 40 n.o.). — Special Correspondent
