Mysore silk with a modern sheen

Bangalore: Mysore silk, which is reckoned as the State’s definitive heritage product, is being showcased at an exhibition organised by the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC) here.

This time, the corporation is exhibiting designer collections too including crepe silk, georgette and printed saris.

Kasuti work

There are also saris with traditional zari work that has a touch of the modern, and Kasuti embroidery work that incorporates motifs inspired by classical sculpture.

“Threads of Gold”, a wedding collection, will also be showcased.

Saris are not the only collections on display. You can also have your pick of silk salwar-kameez sets, tops and ties.

T top it all, a special discount of up to 25 per cent will be offered.

The KSIC exhibition will be held between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. every day until March 11 at the HAL Convention Centre in Marathahalli.
