KOCHI: INHS Sanjivani, the hospital at the Southern Naval Command, organised a symposium here on Saturday on the topic ‘Medicine in the 21st Century’ as part of its golden jubilee celebrations. The symposium was inaugurated by Vice-Admiral S.K. Damle, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command, and attended by a large number of serving and retired medical officers of the armed forces, senior naval officers and eminent doctors. Commanding Officer of INHS Sanjivani Surgeon Captain Mohan Malse highlighted the progress made by the hospital and its impact on the health of navy personnel. Dr. K.U. Natarajan from the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences delivered the keynote address.Navy Wives Welfare Association (Southern Region) president Alka Damle released a souvenir to mark the occasion. Prominent among the dignitaries who attended the symposium were Surg. Rear Adm. V.S. Dixit and Surg. Vice-Adm. (Retd.) H.P. Mukherjee, who had earlier commanded INHS Sanjivani.
